In 2003 the ILO launched a Global Campaign on Social Security and Coverage for All. This requires the definition of effective and sustainable national social security policies. Sound policies have to be based on facts and figures. Only through in-depth factual information about the performance of existing social security systems and individual schemes all around the world can national policies benefit from global experience. This report provides such information.
