European insurers paid out an average of €2.6bn a day in claims and benefits during 2013, according to Insurance Europe´s latest annual "European Insurance in Figures" report. The study, which examined trends in the European insurance market over several years, is based on yearly data collected by Insurance Europe from its member associations. The figures represent more than 90 percent of the market for most countries.
