Mexico: perceived insecurity by gender and location 2022
A national survey conducted from March to April of 2022 revealed that 84 percent of adult women in Mexico felt unsafe at ATMs located on the street, whereas around 73 percent of the adult men interviewed said the same. The perceived level of insecurity was also over 15 percentage points higher among women than men when it comes to visiting a bank. In the same line, around 20 of every 100 women in the country felt unsafe in their own homes.
