In Denmark, the share of primary school pupils who were immigrants or descendants of immigrants increased gradually from 2012 to 2022. In 2012, 7.8 percent of primary school pupils were descendants of immigrants, whereas 2.65 percent were immigrants. By 2022, these figures had increased to 8.5 and 5.9 percent, respectively. Simultaneously, the share of pupils who were of Danish origin decreased by 3.9 percentage points over the same time period.
