In the Netherlands, most consumers tend to save their money, despite low interest rates. In 2006, the total net national saving in the Netherlands was worth around 81.2 billion euros. Subsequently, this increased to approximately 88.7 billion euros in 2007. By 2016, the value decreased, after some fluctuations, to roughly 33.6 billion euros.
