Organ transplantation activity per million population in Spain 2015-2021, by organ
The rate of kidney transplant procedures in Spain was 63.2 per million population in 2021, up from 57.7 procedures per million people that took place in 2020, but still under the 73.8 transplants per million population recorded in 2019, before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Liver transplants followed with a rate of 23.1 transplant procedures per million people in 2021.
