As of February 2023, about 60 percent of tumble dryers sold in South Korea operated via heat pump. While tumble dryers using heat pump drying technology tend to be expensive and be affected by the temperature of its surroundings, it is also the most environmentally friendly and energy efficient type. Smaller tumble dryers generally use traditional heating technology considering its size and manufcaturing costs.
