Surveyed ahead of the World Refugee Day of 2023, more than four out of five Canadians believed that people should be able to seek refuge in other countries, including Canada, when they are looking to escape war or persecution. This is a two-point increase from the previous year, and a 17-point increase compared to 2019, when Canadians holding this view represented only about two-thirds of the population.
