China: inward FDI stock breakdown by ultimate investor 2020

According to estimates, approximately 10.4 percent of China's inward foreign direct investment (FDI) stock originated from the United States in 2020. A large part of this FDI was channeled through international financial hubs such as Hong Kong, leading to a much lower bilateral account of FDI stock directly from the U.S. of only about 3.7 percent of China's total inward FDI stock in 2020.
