Enrollment rate at secondary school level in Malaysia 2020-2022, by gender
In 2022, female students in Malaysia had a higher enrollment rate compared to male students at secondary school, with 94.91 percent. Education for children in Malaysia is compulsory only up to year six of primary school. Nevertheless, in 2023, the Malaysian government was discussing the possibility to make education compulsory until secondary level.
