Preferred return methods in the U.S. 2022, by item value
According to a 2022 survey, consumers in the United States favored direct interactions when returning expensive purchases. Nearly four in ten U.S. online shoppers who bought high-value items preferred returning them in-store, while just over a quarter (26 percent) favored home pickup. Conversely, most of those who purchased low-value items would opt for mail returns.
