Renewable and hydro energy generation in Greece 2012-2019
Greece's renewable energy production has continuously increased since 2012, reaching 10.4 terawatt hours in 2019. Meanwhile, hydropower had seen a net decline in the period of consideration, with a peak of 5.4 terawatt hours recorded in 2013.
Greece's main energy source is natural gas. In the first half of 2020, it provided some 45 percent of total energy production. Renewable sources and hydro accounted for a combined 41 percent.
