Credit card and debit card numbers in Serbia 2016-2022
The number of credit cards in Serbia reached roughly one million in 2022, a decrease compared to previous years. Credit cards represented roughly 10 percent of payment cards in Serbia. Debit cards were found more often in the country, as that year there were around seven million of these cards. The numbers provided are estimates, based on the figures central banks have to supply. Owning a payment card does not immediately indicate it gets used often, as there are large differences within Europe when it comes to the use of certain payment methods.
