Most valuable telecom operators in APAC 2020
Leading brands
China and Japan lead the telecommunications market in Asia Pacific, with both countries each having three major telecom providers. China’s China Mobile had the third highest revenue globally in 2018, following on from American giants AT&T and Verizon. Founded in 1995, China telecom is the largest fixed-line service provider in China. China Unicom also has impressive credentials, being the largest mobile service provider globally in terms of subscription numbers. Japan’s NTT Group was ranked second as the most valuable telecom operator, however, SoftBank has also secured a reputation as being a vital telecom provider, boasting consistently increasing net sales.
Increased connectivity
Asia Pacific is a dramatically growing region, maintaining consistent population increases throughout the past decade. A growing population therefore requires efficient connectivity. Asia Pacific’s telecommunications infrastructure has progressed, with a higher share of the people across the region having phone and internet access.
