ARPU of pay TV, sports, and streaming services in the U.S. 2022-2028
As of 2023, the average revenue per user of an average pay TV service in the U.S. amounted to about 107 U.S. dollars, and thus was higher than the combined ARPU of a self-bundled video package including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and leading sports streaming services. With streaming platforms currently implementing several profitability measures, such as increasing their fees, the trend is probably towards an ARPU that gets closer to pay TV by 2028.
