According to a March 2021 study, 68 percent of surveyed culture-goers in Canada engaged with free online cultural events during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Meanwhile, roughly 13 percent of the survey sample claimed to have watched paid online cultural events as of March 2021. When asked about the period after the end of the health crisis, roughly a quarter of respondents believed they will engage in free online cultural events after the pandemic, whereas only seven percent think they will engage with paid online cultural content.
