Its revenue has fluctuated over the past few years, dipping in 2018 and 2019 but recovering into 2020 with around 12 billion euros in revenue. This recovery seems short-lived as revenue had again dropped in 2021 to nine billion, stabilizing at nine billion through 2022, though that is in line with revenue during the previous four years. Telia Company AB, the Swedish telecom giant, had net sales amounting to 90 billion Swedish kronor, or approximately eight million euros in 2022. Fixed telephone subscribers have decreased in recent years in the Nordic countries. For instance, the number of subscribers in Sweden amounted to just under 1.3 million individuals. In contrast, more and more people were subscribing to mobile cellular services. For example, the number of Swedes in the same year was roughly 13 million with the other Nordic countries following a similar vein. Finland is no exception: despite some fluctuation over the evaluated period, the number of Finnish mobile cellular subscribers in 2022 was twice as high as it was back in 2000. With the advancement of technology, it can be expected that new telecom services might emerge, and new trends be set up.
